How We Met

Ben is a software engineer from southern Germany who went via Stuttgart and five years in Canada before landing in London in 2015. Nadia grew up in Russia and started her career in PR and communications, before switching to tech and moving to London. She’s spent the last twelve years helping big companies adopt new technology. But her toughest implementation so far: getting a last-minute engineer to plan a wedding a whole year in advance.

We met three years ago in a club in Mayfair, where Ben’s strategy was to stare at Nadia from across the room for two hours. He was quite confident in it, right up until she walked past and asked whether he was planning to ask for her number at some point.

He did.

Since then there have been cosy movie nights, Christmas with families, many travel adventures, kitchen discussions about our nerd galaxies, the future of AI (Ben does not believe in it) and more debates about who is the better travel planner than we can count.

Nadia books the wedding venues, Ben books the flights.

Along the way we learned to read each other, laugh at ourselves and make each other very happy.

The Proposal

In spring 2026 we escaped to the Seychelles for a week of beaches, sunshine and absolutely no work. Somewhere between the white sand, the turquoise water and a very questionable decision of skinny dipping at night, Ben asked and Nadia said yes.

In Ben’s words, it was “the best week ever”: he got engaged to the woman he loves. Nadia’s verdict: “I like being engaged. Can we get engaged every month?” (Ben was concerned that a ring a month might get tricky with only ten fingers.)

Since then we’ve moved in together in London, compared far too many venues, and we can’t wait to celebrate with all of you.

Join Us in London

Our families and friends are spread across Germany, the UK, Russia, and far beyond, so we decided to bring everyone to the city we call home: London.

We’d love for you to be there as we say “I do” on 28 August 2027. Full details on the venue, schedule, travel and places to stay are on the following pages, and we’ll keep this site updated as plans come together.
